After the year we’ve had, I have to admit that I’m struggling to get into the Christmas spirit!  The tree is up, but the rest of the decorations have failed to materialise and there is a loose wire in the outdoor lights!  All of my son’s 30 or so Christmas cards were hurriedly written yesterday, in time for the last day of school, but I haven’t sent a Christmas card of my own yet!

Yesterday, I attempted to go Christmas shopping in a nearby town.  It wasn’t the hideous experience I thought it might be, given all the shops have to follow strict social distancing.  In fact, there were so few people about, I almost had the place to myself during the two hours I was out and about.  I forced myself to concentrate, in order to get presents for the various children of family and friends, but adults might have to go without this year…Bah humbug!
