Today, I received some feedback on one of my early stories (First Love, Second Chance). It read:
“Gripping! Ripping! A real barn-burner for sure! It’s so good to hear a female voice telling us what it’s like. Hundreds of guys are suddenly better lovers!”
Since I’ve been publishing my stories, I’ve received a good deal of feedback, mostly incredibly supportive. And I just wanted to say, to all those readers out there, submitting comments, voting and generally supporting authors makes so much difference.
Writing is a relatively lonely pastime, at least in my experience. For hundreds of hours, I will sit and write a book, worry about it, edit it, re-edit it, re-re-edit it (and that’s not even a word!), worry about it a bit more and then ultimately click on the publish button, without anybody in the world ever having read it. Often the first comments I receive back are via free sites on which I publish some of the chapters. Less rarely, comments appear via Amazon from readers who have purchased my stories (although I find that, sadly, Amazon users are less willing to provide feedback for erotica).
In a very apprehensive state, I will check for comments, just hoping that what I have written has been well received. First and foremost, I write my stories because I enjoy reading them, but to know that others feel the same way is such a boost, and really gives me the confidence and determination to carry on with my work.
So, to all you lovely readers out there who take the time to provide authors with feedback on the work they have produced, a heartfelt THANK YOU. You’re the best!
